HOW TO ORDER:
1. DINOSAUR STYLE
If ordering
Dinosaur Style (thru the mail), you can print out this sheet, then circle the
price of what you want and mail it in with your payment. PLEASE circle
with a fine colored marker; any color will do.
2. ONLINE
Sorry, this is not a full-function
interactive website with a shopping cart and card processing ability. It's
Dinosaur-style; it only has listings. Still, we can improvise!
You
can send
me an e-mail and type out what you want and the price.
OR, you can cut & paste the item with its description
and price.
IF the item exists in several conditions or forms (such as f-vf or vf for
stamps, or as Cut Squares or Full Corners) please indicate which you want.
OR you can cut & paste large portions of the list and
HIGHLIGHT
whatever you want. Green (the 00-80-00
shade for the techs out there) works well, as does
Red
(the FF-00-00 shade).
I accept VISA, Master Card, and American Express. I also accept
PAY PAL, at my e-mail address of "slwarking@erols.com".
3. PHONE
IF your order is relatively simple or if you have a few questions, you can
phone me at 718-939-5788. For me, "business hours"
are flexible. I'm usually in, and if I'm not, you get
the answering machine. Leave your #; I'll get back to you.
TERMS OF
PURCHASE: Items from this list
may be combined with items from my other lists for a
MINIMUM ORDER
of $15. ALL ORDERS will be shipped via
Insured or Registered mail, for
your protection. Please add $2 for postage and insurance to all orders.
Smaller orders will carry private insurance and will have NO USPS markings.
There's no "handling" fee; just
actual postage expenses.
This is for U.S. orders only. Overseas shipments, please e-mail me in
advance for shipping information.
New York State Residents, please add the appropriate
Sales tax. VISA, Master
Card
and American Express are accepted: please include all information which appears
in raised print,
PLUS the 3 digit security code
which appears on the back. PayPal accepted.
SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED ON ALL
ORDERS
Dear Friends & Collectors,
When it rains, it pours. Right on the heels of the magnificently well-done 2010 UPSS POSTAL CARD CATALOG the UPSS is working on an update of the UPSS 20TH CENTURY ENVELOPE CATALOG. This update is occurring sooner than usual, for a number of reasons.
The last Catalog, released 2004, had a number of problems. For whatever reasons, (Don't ask me why; I know NOTHING!) quite a number of errors were omitted from the last edition. One need only examine the listings of U611 (page 254) to understand. There are no errors listed in the UPSS Catalog...yet this issue exists with the red color omitted, with the tagging omitted, and with BOTH the red and tag omitted. Missing colors and tags are also known on many other modern issues...612, 614, 615, 616, 617, 619, 620, plus many later issues. There are tagging varieties; these include rectangular tagging vs. square tagging....and my favorite issue, U617, which has 4 varieties of tags and paper! All this has to be fixed.
Plus, there are many new...and complex...issues with reprints, various formats, tagging varieties, different USPS logos, etc...
The release date is tentatively scheduled for "sometime" in the Spring. Pricing input is already in progress, and if the catalog is anything like the PC Cat...it will be a winner.
It's a bit early to take advance orders...but when the time comes, I'll be there for you. Price will probably be stiff...but hopefully, once this Catalog is updated, it will last for 10 years.
WHAT'S NEW ON THE WEBSITE...
Effective immediately - actually, effective several weeks ago - the "21st Century" shopping-cart website stevelevinestamps.com is gone. I've taken the OLD "20th Century" text-only website - slevine.com - and placed in at the stevelevinestamps.com address. This is the address you should have bookmarked. If you have them both bookmarked and somehow wind up at the wrong one, there will be a link pointing you to the right one. This link will stay up for awhile... Meanwhile, you can remove the slevine.com website from your bookmarks.
What's also new...is the return of an old list, POSTAL STATIONERY FDCs - MAJOR BRANDS. I never listed these several years ago when I transitioned from the mail-order lists to the website because it was a complex job...moreso than any of my other lists. Actually...it's STILL complex, but I'm a lot more savvy with the computer now, and I can handle the group better.
And now, some new offerings this month....
NEW ISSUE - HAWAIIAN RAIN FOREST PCs
The 4th issue of the series.
10 Cards issued in 5 sheets of 2. Together in a shrink-wrapped pack.
Scan at the left, below.
PRICE FOR THE SET IS $16.50!
UXC1 GOVERNMENT MISCUT
Many Postal Cards are sold to
the public in sheets of 40 or more so that printers can put advertisements on
them. AIRMAIL cards are not. This brings up 2 important points:
1. Advertisements on Airmail Postal Cards are
scarce. In fact, printing of ANY kind on airmail PCs is scarce.
In over 30 years of dealing in Advertising on Postal
Cards I've never owned an illustrated ad on an Airmail card....and precious few
printed addresses.
2. Anything off-centered is a GOVERNMENT
miscut.....like the UCX1 I've scanned at the right below. It's shifted a
VERY healthy 3/8".
PRICE FOR THE UXC1 MISCUT IS $15.00!
UX117 "51-STAR FLAG"
O.K...It's not REALLY 51 stars; it's actually a plate flaw of some sort, as you can see at the enlarged scan, below right. But it IS a constant plate flaw, as you can see from the scan of 6 cards below at the left. It'll never be listed...but it will look good in your collection. PRICE FOR THE UX117 PLATE FLAW IS $10.00!
UY19
UNCACHETED
FDC with MAJOR PLATE FLAW!
There are flyspecks, oil bubbles, foreign particles on
plates...and then there is this. AS plate flaws go, this is a big one.
It reminds me of one I sold back in the early '90s I called "The Island of
Atlantis. except that this one is much larger. Yes, it's that messy thing
you see under Alaska. And if you look at the scan, below right where I've
lined up 5 of these, you'll see that it's a constant plate flaw. PRICE
FOR THE UY19 PLATE FLAW IS $15.00!
SOME NEW ENVELOPES BY UPSS #
Presenting a small selection of Envelopes by UPSS #. All clean, no problems. Quantities limited on some, so please get back to me quickly.

COMING SOON ON THE WEBSITE...
Now that I've taken care of the missing Cacheted FDCs, I'll be working on the UNcacheted FDCs....but not immediately.
I have a heavy backup of envelopes...and since they're not all in the best of condition, as I work on them there will also soon be a heavy backup of Cut Squares & Full Corners. Those will be my next task. The next notice you receive from me will announce the addition of quite a few new Cut Squares, followed by the addition of some new Early Envelopes, and finally, the addition of quite a few new Envelopes by UPSS#.
THEN I'll be working on the UNcacheted FDCs... and I'll have a surprise of two for you somewhere in the middle.
You couldn't prove that Global Warming exists by the temperatures over the past few weeks. It seems like only a few weeks ago I was wearing shorts, and now I've had to plug in the space heater a few mornings in a row.
We have a shot at a white Christmas... which we haven't seen often enough in recent years. Now, I enjoy seeing a white Christmas as much as the next man, but I can definitely forego the fluffy white stuff being on the ground the OTHER 91 or so days of Winter.
Looking forward to the Spring but for now,
Sincerest Wishes for the Holidays.
Best Regards,
